COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Introduction to critical thinking and applications to reading, writing, academics, and the personal skills necessary for success in college. Topics will include planning, scheduling, and financing college, as well as setting and prioritizing college, career, and life goals. Examples and applications will be tailored to the engineering technology curriculum
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
Prepare students to succeed in college and to graduate sooner, smarter, more solvent, more satisfied, and more sensible.
COURSE GRADING POLICY AND PROCEDURE:
Grades will be determined according to the following scale (the grading scale may be lowered at the discretion of the Instructor, but will not be raised):
- = 90 100%
- = 80 89%
- = 70 79%
- = 60 69%
F = 59% or lower
Final grades will be computed using the following percentiles.

HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS:
Homework assignments will be an important segment of the course. Typically, there will be one assignment due from each chapter of the text, approximately every two weeks. It is essential that students make steady progress on the assignments as the material is covered in class. Students will be required to turn in required assignments at the stated time for grading.

TENTATIVE COURSE OUTLINE:
- Demonstrate knowledge or University resources to help them succeed including but not limited to the University’s online resources and student services.

Demonstrate and increased appreciation for diversity and commitment to serving others through participation in at least one service opportunity.
